We regularly appear on behalf of our clients before federal and state courts, the National Labor Relations Board, arbitrators, state and county labor relations agencies, and other regulatory agencies.

We provide legal support to organizations engaged in public campaigns to advance the collective good. We have provided legal support to unions and nonprofits engaged in some of the largest public campaigns in the country over the last two decades. Our expertise includes developing creative legal and regulatory solutions, legal vetting of campaign documents, providing First Amendment counsel, providing legal defense—including litigation— when necessary, and acting as a partner with campaigners to help develop cutting-edge campaign legal and other strategies.

We handle wage and hour claims on behalf of employees in both state and federal courts and counsel organizations seeking to assist employees in filing and processing wage and hour complaints before administrative agencies. We have experience with a wide range of wage and hour and related matters, including but not limited to minimum wage violations, overtime violations, off-the-clock violations, break violations, and paid sick day violations. We also regularly advise organizations and legislators at all levels of government on strengthening wage and hour laws in their jurisdictions to ensure workers have the best protections available.

We regularly represent clients before the National Labor Relations Board, county agencies, and other state and federal regulatory bodies. Most recently, the Firm participated in the effort before the Federal Trade Commission to block the largest grocery merger in history. Our goal is always to minimize client expense while achieving the best result from the agency or tribunal.

We handle many types of civil litigation on behalf of our union clients, including cases in U.S. District Courts and U.S. Courts of Appeals, as well as in state trial and appellate courts. When necessary, the firm has also represented Unions as creditors in bankruptcy proceedings before federal bankruptcy courts.

As a subset of civil litigation, arbitration is a foundational aspect of our representation of union clients in both the private and public sectors. The firm has used arbitration to win significant backpay awards, expand union membership, and set important contractual and arbitral precedents.
